Hi! George Irwin isn’t the one I think, but it’s Lt. Col. George S. Patton.  Patton was a young lieutenant assigned by John Pershing to form a tank corps. In the battlefields, the area were severely cratered due to bombardments from large guns and tanks couldn’t moved forward together with the guns because of the muddy ground conditions.
