What did president lincoln really think about racial eguality

Lincoln was obviously a strong supporter of racial equality. Think about it. Had he not been for racial equality he wouldn't have fought so hard to abolish slavery. It's because of him and his want for racial equality that slavery is no more and African Americans have the same rights that Americans do.

Lincoln only abolished slavery as an attempt to preserve the union. once he passed the emancipation proclamation, it made all slaves in the confederate states free, even though he didn't technically have the power to do so. when the CSA (confederate states of america) ignored the emancipation proclamation, it caused GB and France to pull their support from the CSA, ultimately giving lincoln and the union the final advantage it needed to win the war. he only passed it in an attempt to screw the south over, basically. it's not that he wanted to free the slaves, it's that he had to in order to preserve the union.
