The event described is of the Trail of Tears, the forced relocation of Native Americans from their ancestral land. They were removed from this land and moved westward. The American’s view on this is that the land is for them and that they deserved it. This relates to the idea of Manifest Destiny because they believed that the land west of them was only for them, not the Native Americans. America justified the relocation of the Native Americans by stating that it was so they could live away from the influences of the Americas and have their own rules and way of life. The view of the Native American’s was that their ancestral land was being forcibly taken and they had no say in the matter. They were being treated unfairly because they were forced to leave the land that they had significant value towards and the relocation of them led to many deaths along the way.
