Now the reason he resigned marked one of the most biggest Landmark Supreme Court Case known as the US vs Nixon. This case was made because of videotapes with Richard Nixon and others as they were discussing that they were giving away certain classified information on the White House. As the detectives were investigating, they found out he had the tapes and ordered for him to hand it over. He refused to say he had the executive privilege and did not need to hand over the tapes to anyone. He was sued and put in front of the Supreme Court as he explained he didn't need to hand over the tapes, the detectives found out he did not have the executive privilege and that it did not apply to this kind of case.
