you want to convince your parents to buy you a new cell phone. you want to show them that people agree with you that you should get the new phone. how many people would you ask? do you think your parents will be convinced to buy you a new phone if your survey is large enough? explain your reasoning.

Depends on your parents, but if i wanted my parents to buy me an iphone, I would ask my family members and some friends.  10-15 people is a reasonable amount.  But if you are desperate, then more than that would also be fine.  

I don't think my parents would accept because they are strict, and they think that iphones are not for games, selfies, or anything else, just a emergency call or to know where you are.  Even if my survey is very large, I don't think they would be convinced.  But maybe if someone close by them convinces them.   Like a sister/Aunt.  But they have to be on your side, of course.
