You want to put all like terms together In some cases you can take the denominator and multiply it to both sides of the equation... Then solve it like a regular linear equation

You would multiply by the numerator/denominator on both sides. This is because a fraction is basically division and the opposite of division is multiplication.

For example, say you had 2=x/4

To solve this equation, you would multiply by 4 on both sides.

So, x=8 (because you canceled the 4 out and 4x2=8).
