Several trials were performed by pulling a wooden block with a force sensor along a flat surface. Slotted masses at increased values were added on the wooden block in order to change its weight. The force of static and kinetic friction was recorded using the Pasco software. The experiments were repeated changing the surface of contact between the objects. The first set of trials was performed with felt touching the aluminum of the track, the second set of trials was performed with the wood in contact with the aluminum. Data collected are reported below. Table 1.
