1) Imagine it is possible to build a very tall tower on Earth's equator. The lower is 6 miles high,
It is higher than the tallest mountain, higher than planes fly. Now Imagine it is possible for a
person to stand at the top of this tower and drop a ball (Note: Assume the Earth is NOT
spinning...)
1a) Circle one of the answers below to show where you think the ball will go when it is
droppid
2. The ball will fall to the Earth alongside the lower
b. The ball will fall upward into space, away from Earth.
C. The ball will fall downward into space, away from Earth.
d. The ball will circle around the Earth.
Draw an arrow from the hand holding the ball to where you think the ball will travel,
Your arrow should show the path the ball takes after it is dropped. Explain your
thinking, What force causes the ball to drop the way your arrow shows?
1b) How would the force of gravity on the ball at the top of the lower change if the lower
were only 3 miles high (as compared to the original height of 6 miles)? Explain using the
approprláto mathematical formula,
10) How would the force on the ball change if the lower was located on the moon. The mos
of the moon is much smaller than the Earth? Explain using the appropriate mathematical
formula
1d) How are gravitational and electrical forces the same and how they different? USA
specific examples of similarities and differences, How do the differences affect the direction
of the force?

Amachinist turns the power on to a grinding wheel, at rest, at time t = 0 s. the wheel accelerates uniformly for 10 s and reaches the operating angular velocity of 96 rad/s. the wheel is run at that angular velocity for 40 s and then power is shut off. the wheel slows down uniformly at 1.5 rad/s2 until the wheel stops. in this situation, the time interval of deceleration is closest to:
