Arollercoster car and passengers of total mass 1800kg starts from rest at 80m above the ground. ignoring air resistance and friction what will the speed be:
at ground level
at top of the next peak which has height of 30m
take gravity 10n/kg
i calculated it as 1697m/s, by converting gravitational potentional energy to kinetic energy to calculate the velocity/speed.
did you do the same?

The path of a satellite orbiting the earth causes it to pass directly over two tracking stations a and b, which are 51 miles apart. when the satellite is on one side of the two stations, the angles of elevation at a and b are measured to be 87 degrees and 84 degrees, respectively. (a) how far is the satellite from station a? (b) how high is the satellite above the ground?
